Change font in Chinese ROM Smartphone

I have both English ROM and Chinese ROM smartphones (iMate SP3 in English, Moto MPx220 in Chinese) and the Chinese version has a very unreadable font. It is very "slim" compared to English version phones (which almost looks like Bold face).

Has anyone had experience trying to change the font so that it is much more readable? Obviously, I talking about when the phone is operating in English menu (not Chinese).
