Hi all,

I have not been around in ages, i used to be a regular on here, until i broke my spv 100 :'( (see told u it has been ages - the spv100 was a long time ago!)

anyway, when it broke i decided to go for a change on some friends advice... i got a samsung e700...G*ts...i want my spv back!!!!

So, to cut a long (and boring) story short my time to upgrade has finally come, and i want a smartphone back again - i miss it!!

as far as i can tell from reading a few reviews here and there, the C500 is the one to go for... but it seems quite old... the spv's seemed to develop quite quickly from the 100 to the 200 to the 500, so i am wondering if there is another one on the way any time soon that i should wait for?

I am also slightly disapointed that the camera does not have a flash as i like the one on my friends sony k500, also a megapixel camer would be nice to have....(what is the pixel quality of the c500 - i cant find this anywere?).

Thanks for your help.

No news on any new Smartphone atm. The Mpx220 is around, but doesn't look like it'll be on Orange now (its been out for ages) and O2 have gone past the dates they were claiming to release it too.

Imho we won't hear about the c500 successor until the summer, and won't be able to get one until Xmas time..

I'd say go for the C500 it's a lot better than the E100.

but are you sure you wanna stay with smartphone? T-mobile has the MDA-compact. that one isn't expencive. it's pretty small and has touch screen and pocket PC phone edition.

I was gonna go for it myself but no money left after they stole my moto mpx200 and my insurance refused to pay up!!!!

...I would agree with Pigo...it's the C500 (iMate SP3, SP3i) or the iMate Jam for me!!!

Cheers

Maybe a successor will be announced at the 3GSM conference next month?

The C500 has been on sale for a very decent amount of time now and it looks a bit basic next to a few of the newer phones on the market (3G, megapixel camera, hot-swappable memory, etc). I'm sure that HTC are working on somethng...

Don't know about anywhere else but Orange France has started offering their SPV M2000. Pda style, slide out keyboard, 2003 SE, bluetooth and wifi. I'm sorely tempted, if I had the money.

I have an I-mate SP3i on O2 and I think it is brilliant after the MPX200 I used to have. Nice and rare too!

My vote: I-Mate Jam. It rocks more than ozzy osbourne at a charity rock festival in aid of a bat sanctuary.

Allmost forgot.

Orange are testing a I-mate Jam look-a-like.

It looks pretty darn good. I like the darker colour and the edgier design.

Cheers guys,

I will keep checking the press for a couple of weeks (in case of any drastic new developments...) and then probably get the c500 :D

nothing for a few months? bugger :D

currently have an e200 and more than happy with it after having the it's predecessors as well. one of my contracts is up and am toying with either the samsung d500 (purely for looks an camera) or the m2000. cant decide if i want the looks of the d500 or geeky techieness of wi-fi etc of the m2000!!
