Guest inspectorgadjet Posted January 26, 2005 Report Posted January 26, 2005 I've had my new MDA III from T-Mobile for a few days now, and I love it. It's a great device and I haven't regretted buying it. My only regret is that I am a loyal Orange customer, but got fed up with waiting for the M2000 to reappear. The only thing that I can fault with this device, is what I think is a design flaw. Because they have the camera on the one side of the MDA, and it juts out slightly, it makes the MDA wobble if you use it on a desk or table. It doesn't wobble much, but it's enough to be a little irritating. Surely, it would have been sensible to include some kind of foot/ridge on the other side of the MDA where the external antenna connector is so that the MDA would be balanced out a little better. Well, I guess for such an amazing piece of equipment a slight wobble is not a very big deal at all. But hopefully for the next device, they'll remember to balance it out properly. 8)

Guest inspectorgadjet Posted January 26, 2005 Report Posted January 26, 2005 Well, I've never really been a big fan of T-Mobile...and not just because they're a horrible pink colour, but I have to admit, their customer service is pretty good. I have had no problems when calling them and asking a ton of questions. They're more than happy to help, and it seems like they really know how to deal with their customers. Although to be fair, Orange still take very good care of their customers. My 3G handset is on Orange and I got a messed up Sony Ericsson z1010 a month ago. I've only really started using it as my primary phone in the last two weeks as I am finally getting my 3 contracts closed off, and I discovered that the phone just didn't like making calls or sending texts. It would go from full signal to nothing as soon as I dialled or pushed send. Then as soon as it failed, it would go back to full. Orange were quite quick to send a replacement out and they didn't even charge. I think that's brilliant as I opted out of the insurance when I got my 3g handsets. (And yes...I do have a lot of phones...I currenlty have two 3 phones - personal line and business - that I have been using for a while and am now trying to get rid of as they have the worst customer service. I have my 3g Orange phone now, and the 3g datacard. I also have a c500, which is no longer on contract. I have just got my MDA III on T-mobile because I've been craving a serious gadget. And I also have two virgin mobile sims, 2 orange pay as you go, and about 4 unused o2 sims. I just can't help gathering more devices. Too many toys. So far though, the c500 and the MDA III are the best of the lot.
Guest raiderz Posted January 27, 2005 Report Posted January 27, 2005 Well I've been with Orange since May 1996 and way back then they were the cream of mobile phone operators, one years free handset insurance, free replacement phone within 24 hours, a £25 a month with free 30 mins talktime, wayhey not bad at all. Then they sold out to a French firm, and guess what?? The free insurance stopped, costing £5 a month but was on a sliding scale depending on the age of the handset. Then the insurance went up to £5 regardless of the age of the phone, then the courier failed delivery charge of £13 came on the scene. The admin charge of £18 appeared from nowhere for every claim. New Tarriffs came on the scene, free evening minutes came recently, but if you've been a loyal Orange customer, tough, your stuck on the same talk plan you on, because "you got free insurance deal when you first joined Orange" yeah I'll admit I got free insurance but everyone back then did. Still things could be worse.. I could be on O2 or Vodafone, a friend of mine went to O2 11 months ago because of a cheap deal, but he wishes he was back on Orange, but because he's on O2, he'll get a better deal than me who has been with Orange all these years. Still I'm not bitter... well not much anyway.
