Is this possible to do? I want to access the system files and clear out the folders in the Storage\Windows\AppMgr and possibly some shortcuts on the start menu...

How can I do this?

It is possible, but your phone currently is application-locked on some level, which is preventing you from accessing/modifying/deleteing system files.

Google for No Warez and you'll find your solution... :D Good luck!

Tried it, didn't work. Perhaps this works on other variant Orange/HTC/etc... phones, but not the Audiovox...

It works, believe us...I did it and recommend it.

I tried this as well and am not having luck.

I'm trying to copy some DLLs from the \WINDOWS directory (ROM) and get either "failed to copy" or a blank file if I attach it to a email.

I've run the program again, it said that security was disabled, then try to delete the directories in that folder, and get an error saying it wasn't deleted.

*shrug*

I'm using WM 2003SE version 4.21.1088 (build 14257.2.0.0)

There is no application lock as I can run whatever programs I want, it's more like an OS lock, and I can't really edit or delete system files.... (though I can move some of them around, just not these useless folders in particular).

I have the same exact build as your phone (I dont believe there is another on the SMT5600).

I have my whole start menu rearraged into subfolders which was impossible to do before running the decert program.

You are correct in saying that the phone is application unlocked. But I believe in what is considered a "tier 2" unlock and still prevents moving/deleting of system files. No Warez will provide a complete decertification of the phone as it has done on mine.

Tell me what it is exactly that you are doing when using No Warez (where you are putting the files, etc) and also tell me what exactly you are trying to do with your files.

I'm trying to copy some DLLs and other system files from the \WINDOWS directory (ROM) to my SD card and get "failed to copy". I also tried attaching it to a email but when I send the file the attachment is 0KB.

Damn two different users having the same trouble that I am not having at all. Assuming that you both ran No Warez correctly:

More exact please.

Which DLL's?

I just tried and can copy any DLL in my \Windows directory and \Storage\Windows directory.

Actually, it worked... but for some reason I have a ~RJ Registry Tweak folder that I can't delete.

Hmm... other than that, it did end up working, but not the first time I tried.

Just out of intrest, could this program be used to "borrow" the program files for Windows Media player 10 from the Audiovox 5600 and then place an exact compy on the spv c500?

I am a n00b wit programming but thats how I got msn to work on the locked college computers.

I am determined to get media player 10 to work on this fone! MP9 is lame and I feel Microsoft have ripped me off by providing a fone with such crappy software anyway. I deserve MP10.

Are you joking?? While perhaps technically correct, that argument is absurd!

Did you try to use Smart Explorer instead of the built-in explorer?

I'm not really any good at programming, but i know stuff like this can be done.

As I said, I just found what the minimum program files I could use to run MSN on my skool computers and saved them in my area.

I have also spent hours moving program files around my Sony Ericsson P800.

Please could someone have a try. Just need to figure out which files are to do with media player 10 on their imate SP3-i or Audiovox, rip em to their PC and then share them with everyone with breif instructions! I have MP10 on my PC anyway so the licence must be free right?

Not really. Since he owns a Windows device, Media Player has always been a free upgrade which they have never charged for.

If he can get it running on his phone, good for him, but he'd probably have to hack the rom, as Media Player probably isn't the only thing different from 2003 to 2003 SE. Good luck.

Guys - if the problem is WMP9 is lame, maybe WMP10 isn't the only answer. Have you installed and played with Betaplayer?

The latest stable version (0.5) not only plays DivX, it also plays damn near every other format possible - including WMA and WMV. It also supports fast forward, rewind, graphic equalizer, and lots of other cool tricks that WMP9 hasn't got. I don't know if WMP10 has some syncing stuff you're after that Betaplayer hasn't - but it might be the best option until a new SPV comes out, or Orange produce another new ROM that I doubt will ever be made.

Just a thought, but if you haven't already got Betaplayer, get it. I honestly believe this and SmartExplorer should be bundled with the phone in the first place! They're indispensible!

Crashed on my C500 when loaded the first WMV.

Oh! That doesn't sound good!

Did you get it working after that (uninstall & reinstall)? Or did you give up in a huff?

When I tried one of the old unstable ones, it crashed when I tried my first WMV too, so I left WMV's in WMP and just used Betaplayer for DivX. Never had the same problem EVER with the stable 0.5 version, so assumed that whatever the problem was had been fixed.

So, Tudor, did you get it working in the end?

I just gave up. Anyway, I wanted to see what it can do for audio, as I'm not too keen on watching videos on my phone, but I like to use it as a music player on my way to work. I haven't tried the DivX format, as I am very comfortable with Windows Media Encoder for converting videos.

BTW, have a look at this thread, maybe you can help us out with my Media Player 10 sync issue.
