Guest Terminal Posted January 27, 2005 Report Posted January 27, 2005 PLEASE HELP! I was wondering if anyone knows why when I link to a wav file saved on my storage card, it will not play as an alarm tone. The only wav's I can get to work with this programme are ones that are saved in the main Windows folder and there is no more room in my phone memory for additional wav's! :?: :?: :?: I am also having a nightmare trying to get wavs/wma/mp3's to play as SMS sounds!!! No problem as ring tones but my SPV500 seems to have a different set of rules governing SMS sounds.
Guest Disco Stu Posted January 27, 2005 Report Posted January 27, 2005 The C500 will only play alarm / SMS tones from the main phone memory. They need to go in \Storage \Application Data \Sounds. The Windows folder gets rewritten on reboot so you will lose them from there. There is no way to get the phone to use MP3s as the format is not supported with the SPV range. Wavs need to be PCM-formatted. Windows Sound Recorder can do this for you. It's in Programs, Accessories, Entertainment on your PC. It is important not to store loads of these files on the phone as they eat up precious memory and you will run the risk of a serious crash.
