SMS counter bug

Hey all,

have been texting using the onscreen keyboard for a while now and noticed that when i type a text the counter says 0/160 (characters remaining), this is all well and good but when i was typing suddenly it will change to 20/70 (chracters remaining).

Had a bit of a play and it only happens for example when i type 'im' then press the space button it automaticlly changes it to 'I'm' then the counter changes to 70chars instead of 160.

Also one of my mates has an old phone and cant receive any messages that go by this method, i hope im not being charged for MMS messages or anything like that :?:

It's because 'use unicode when necessary' is selected in your accounts options.

Open Messaging, go to your texts, tap 'Accounts', tap 'Accounts...', tap 'Text Messages', then untick 'Use Unicode when necessary'
