Guest squall Posted January 29, 2005 Report Posted January 29, 2005 O2 in the uk have been selling the XDA2s for a few weeks now, but they have now released the XDA2i. The specification of the two differs in that the XDA2s has no sliding keypad, but does feature a 1.3MP camera and a speedier processor. On the left the XDA2i, on the right the XDA2s You can buy from the O2 website - http://shop.o2.co.uk/shop/
Guest philgriffiths Posted January 29, 2005 Report Posted January 29, 2005 according to the O2 shop site they do differ slighlty in specification. The XDAIIi has a megapixel camera while the XDAIIs does not. Thats how it reads anyway. But i suppose it also says that the email client used on the XDAIIi is windows media player!?
Guest squall Posted January 29, 2005 Report Posted January 29, 2005 on doing a search ive found conflicting info, some sites say its 0.3 mpxl (vga) and some 1.3 I will try to confirm...
Guest tetstb Posted January 29, 2005 Report Posted January 29, 2005 The xda-2i does not have the slide keyboard, I rang the o2 store in Merryhill today and its and xda-ii with a new rom and widescreen support, its not the same hardware as the xda2-s
Guest philgriffiths Posted January 29, 2005 Report Posted January 29, 2005 You rang the store in Merry hill? where abouts are you? I live just down the road from that sprawling mad house
Guest tetstb Posted January 29, 2005 Report Posted January 29, 2005 (edited) You rang the store in Merry hill? where abouts are you? I live just down the road from that sprawling mad house <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I'm in bathgate in scotland but will be down in brum next week, thought i might pick one up when i'm down as i'm sick of waiting on the orange m2000. The spec is : The new XDA IIi includes an Intel Bulverde CPU, running 520 MHz (Faster than both XDAII & XDAIIS which was only a Intel 400 MHz processor ) It supports W-LAN (The XDAII did not. The XDAIIS did.) Supports Bluetooth using the Widcomm Bluetooth stack, already introduced with the Xda IIs/III It also includes a 1.3 Megapixel camera (The XDAII and the XDAIIS only had a 0.3 MP camera) and will be released with Windows Mobile 2003 Second Edition for Pocket PC Phone Edition containing AKU2 which supports Windows Media 10 Mobile. Guest philgriffiths Posted January 29, 2005 Report Posted January 29, 2005 Sounds good. But for me there isnt really anything there that will make me turn in my M2000.
Guest tetstb Posted January 29, 2005 Report Posted January 29, 2005 Sounds good. But for me there isnt really anything there that will make me turn in my M2000. <{POST_SNAPBACK}>i'd be happy if i could find an m2000, cant find one anywhere.
Guest Pondrew Posted January 30, 2005 Report Posted January 30, 2005 i'd be happy if i could find an m2000, cant find one anywhere. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I found one at OneStop albeit with the letters M D A I I I on it! :D
Guest Pondrew Posted January 30, 2005 Report Posted January 30, 2005 Rather surprised at all this because I'd got it into my head that the XDA IIi was going to be the Blue Angel but with improved spec. Seems I, and many people I know, were wrong. :| And am I the only person that thinks the XDA II design now looks a little dated? Saw one in the shop and there's alot of case for the screen size. Isn't there?!
Guest Paul [MVP] Posted January 30, 2005 Report Posted January 30, 2005 The black looks pretty sweet in the flesh :D P
Guest philgriffiths Posted January 30, 2005 Report Posted January 30, 2005 Personally I prefer the black blue angel to the silver one too. However I prefer Orange to O2 aswell. :D
Guest adambern Posted January 31, 2005 Report Posted January 31, 2005 I picked up an XDA2i on the weekend from Windsor. New contract on 200 minutes a month. £179.99. I prefer this to the XDA2s. Faster, BT actually works reliably (both headset and as a modem for my laptop), wifi is better, sound is good and no keyboard to come loose. The camera *is* 1.3MP. Interestingly, the s and the i are now both E179.99. I've tested several PDA phones over the last two months (ipaq 6340 / 6365, the XDA2s, Nokia Communicator 9500 and now the XDA2i), and this is by far the most reliable unit.
Guest www.msmobiles.com Posted February 27, 2005 Report Posted February 27, 2005 I picked up an XDA2i on the weekend from Windsor. New contract on 200 minutes a month. £179.99. Do you know if I could buy it in London without contract ?
Guest naysonr Posted May 18, 2005 Report Posted May 18, 2005 which is better do you think, all i want to use it for is watching movies and playing games and music, i like the look of the s, but the faster processer and better camera are also appealing, also i don't know if i'd use the keyboard, (i know that you can have t9 touchscreen with the IIi but can you with the s also, are you able to type t9 on the IIs??) i really haven't got a clue on which one to chose, ergonomically i like the s but i like the i's spec a little more, would i use the keyboard???? thanx i know theres alot of questions there in that rubble but i'd appreciate some answers,
