Guest Wlodek Posted January 30, 2005 Report Posted January 30, 2005 Has anyone else noticed the following? I visited an area with poor Orange signal. Following that the whole evening I was not receiving calls. My better half tried ringing me and she was thrown into answerphone right away. (On the bright side, the same happened to the double glazing salesman.) No SMS received either. In the morning she (no, not the double glazing man ...) rang me on landline, I power-cycled the phone and immediately received the texts (3 of them) and the answerphone notification. Also the nice text from Orange about missed calls - nice feature. Pity about the phone. The nasty thing is that the phone pretended to be happy, I synchronised it and all was fine. The phonecalls were not received both before and after the synchronisation. I am not sure I want to have a phone that does this ... it becomes a toy not a phone. Reliability is the key issue here. I am beginning to think that phones should be phones and PDAs - PDAs. :D
Guest Disco Stu Posted January 30, 2005 Report Posted January 30, 2005 Surely that's an issue with coverage rather than the phone ? The only time that's happened to me is New Year's Eve, but my sister has problems in the North Yorkshire wilds
Guest Tr31ze Posted January 30, 2005 Report Posted January 30, 2005 this is simply a network related problem, as stu mentioned above, has nothing to do with the phone.
Guest Mr Marko Posted January 30, 2005 Report Posted January 30, 2005 I had a similar problem with not receiving SMS from certain people. Orange suggested I set my phone from Automatic network search to Manual, this helped. I still lose SMS if my phone isn't switched on and well charged. :?:
