if the homescreen is in a .cab file copy it to the start menu of the phone using windows explorer. then run from the start menu

If its in a zip file (make sure it is a zip and not a cab) copy it to storage/application data/home then select from the settings / homescreen menu on the phone

hmm strange,

you need to copy the file to

mobile devices/my smartphone/storage/windows/start menu/accessories

then run from the accessories in the phones menu

where did you get the file from? if you give me the link i will check what type of file it is

Good news :D

Have a look in the Customisation section on this forum - someone started a thread for free ringtone sites just last week

best thing to do for ringtones is convert your favourite mp3 to wav (dbpoweramp does this nicely) at really low quality (8bit mono) then use sound recorder to chop off everything after the first 30 secs, this should leave you with a nice small file. Upload it to your phone and there you go :D

Exactly how I do mine.

dbPowerAmp is excellent and free. Windows Sound Recorder will also save wavs in the necessary PCM format
