Guest Raven001 Posted January 31, 2005 Report Posted January 31, 2005 When I first bought my SMT5600, I installed several games, including 6th Gear Ultimate Challenge Racing and Boxy Pocket. These games ran flawlessly, and very smoothly on my phone. After owning the phone for a few weeks, I picked up a 256mb Stoarage Card. After installing the card, I did a hard reset and reinstalled all of my games to it. Since doing so, the games have been significantly choppier. 6th Gear Racing is almost unplayable, and Boxy Pocket is just painfully slow. I've tried playign these games after quitting everything in my task manager, but that hasn't helped. My question is: SHOULD installing games onto the Storage Card hurt performance? Was it the hard reset that somehow caused this? What can I do to restore the original performance of my phone? Thank you so much!

Thank you so much! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I had this on my 256mb card as well, I've got a 1gb one now and no problems, I noticed it with Quake, loading time on the phone was seconds, on the scard was minutes. I did notice that the card did not format properly when formatted on the pc, so thought it was a card issue (kingston one). Try formating the card on the pc and see what you get!

Guest Raven001 Posted February 21, 2005 Report Posted February 21, 2005 Well I finally got around to formatting my card on my PC (it wouldn't format on the smartphone). I copied all of the data off of the card, formatted it to FAT32, and recopied all of the data back. The good news? My phone still works and there has been a noticible increase in speed (the racing game is at least playable now!). The bad? It's still not as fast as before  I guess it's time for a hard reset... ugh.. I hate those! (too much work to restore everything back to just how it was!)... Comments or suggestions welcome!
