Single Contacts with multiple numbers on SPV c500

Folks,

I've just used some Orange phone manager app to IR over my contacts from my t610. However, I now have multiple, singular entries for each contact when before I'd have one contact name with multiple number behind each selection (i.e. I saw 20 friends on my contact list before that might have had 4 numbers each, I now see 80 entries on the c500 with each name repeated 4 times).

Does anyone know how to get round this (i.e. edit the contacts elsewhere).

Does the C500 allow a 'default' number to call from such (collated) contacts.

I had the same thing when I upgraded from a T68i. The best bet is just to cut and paste them together in Outlook on a PC, then sync. with the phone.

And yes, the C500 does allocate a "default" number to all contacts.
