Can anybody confirm or decline 900MHz on STM5600?

I have 2 unlocked (V3) STM5600 with Qtek ROM on them and only 1800MHz is working, 900 status is "Denied, searching" or "No service"! Florin?

I msged Florin about this once and it appears as though there's hardware limitations on the 5600 that prevent it from using GSM 900 and thus it really only is a triband device with 850/1800/1900.

The Audiovox SMT 5600 is 850/1800/1900 (and only used in the US?)

The Orange SPV C500/HTC Typhoon and Qtek 8020/Oxygen Xphone II/Imate SP3i are all 900/1800/1900, I'm pretty sure.

I'm pretty sure this isn't just software either, otherwise they would probably advertise them as quad band phones, which they are not.

FCC ID of STM5600 is NM8TP. Could anybody post FCC ID of C500 so we can check FCC specification?

Hi all,

After some time, IT IS POSIBLE!!!

But, you need to change switchplexer on the board with Murata HA165.

So, there is difference in hardware between STM 5600 and European models (C500, 8010, SP3)…

Hi bambi,

I found the Murata switchplexer chip at: http://www.murata.com/catalog/eu007_80.pdf. It support 900MHz. But I didn't find 850M chip in their catalog. Do you know which one is used on SMT5600? Is it pin compatible with MLSP7CHA-165? Is it easy to change the chip? Does it work? If so, where did you get the Murata switchplexer?

Thanks
