Hi Everyone!

Im expecting my C500 (on Orange in the UK) to arrive any day now.

Just wondering if anyone has any advice on what to do first. I have gathered some MP3's and converted some videos to avi. Ive also purchased a 512mb Mini SD card.

What programs should i be looking to install and are there any issues that are known about the C500 with regard to what programs work well or what programs won't work?

Any advice would be appreciated

Thanks

Martin

Welcome to the site!

Feels like we're saying that a lot more nowadays.

Sounds like you must be chomping at the bit to get your phone with all that stuff ready and waiting!

Have a trawl through Handango or Smartphone.NET and if you find something that you like the look of download a trial. You'll find that there are "unofficial" reviews/user comments on Modaco for most apps, so you can tell the good stuff from the rubbish

Enjoy your new toy!

Well... I can give you a few tips.

First things first. get yourself BetaPlayer! it's awesome!!

it's great for movies and MP3's and if movies are your thing then get pocket-divx-encoder. it's an app that converts your bog movies in to ones of smartphone size & quality.

games are a plenty in these forums. but the best ones at the moment (to me atleast) are Virtual Pool, Worms World Party, Flux challenge & Eclipse: First Wave

These games aren't freeware but WELL worth the money. and freeware games are spread through out the forum (try looking under "Software" and then the games section for smartphone).

another App to get is SP Task Manager. it has a lot of information and can help you keep your C500 up to speed by closing apps that are still initiated in the background.

Hope this is a good start for you.

As well as Task Manager also install Smart Explorer, both are available from www.binarys.com

The phone has a form of both on the phone already but these two apps are always the first thing I install on any phone.

I just bought SkyForce and Blazar... I haven't played the registered Blazar yet, but SkyForce is great. Worth the $9.95 definitely.

Lots of stuff to do with the SMT 5600. I'm absolutely amazed. If you don't have all your contacts in Outlook already, put them in, so when you plug it into the USB Port and install Microsoft ActiveSync, then all your contacts and numbers will be automatically transferred.

Damn I love this phone.
