Guest rannoch Posted February 3, 2005 Report Posted February 3, 2005 Just bought the C500, and been setting it up today. New to the C500 and new to contracts. So, some of these questions will be stupid, but be nice! Using Garth Rautenbach's instructions to the letter I have setup ActiveSync with Bluetooth, and it's working fine. Setup e-mail and downloaded and sync'd etc no problem. Got wma ringtones working - via this forums advice. Main issue is the call timers. I'm positive that I linked to the internet and e-mail using gprs (used the c500 default setup), but the timer says I used 42 minutes for data calls. Do the timers record all links not just dial up. How are voice calls calculated . For example, if I phone 150 that time will be added to the timers, but the calls are free. I just wondered if free calls are subtracted from any included minutes my plan has (Your Plan 120+120) Regards, Rannoch
Guest martin Posted February 3, 2005 Report Posted February 3, 2005 Yes, unfortunately the GPRS connection time is added to the data timer on the C500. I have no idea why that's been done. Free calls like 150 won't be deducted from your plan :D
Guest rannoch Posted February 4, 2005 Report Posted February 4, 2005 Having messed about with the phone for a couple of days now it was filled with c**p. So, I decided to zap the lot using Clear Storage. Of course, that meant I zapped the bluetooth settings, and it took me a while to set it up again. In the Orange website under firmware upgrades (BTW is 4.1.1.4 the latest upgrade in the UK?) they say back up info from \Storage\Application Data\Sounds, Storage\Application Data\Home and your personal stuff - pictures, videos, etc stored in \Storage\My Documents. Can you backup the system settings (like the bluetooth setup)? Regards, Rannoch
