Guest adjonline Posted February 4, 2005 Report Posted February 4, 2005 Not quite sure where to post this...can't see it anywhere already. A very exciting new service from Orange at http://www.orange.co.uk/business/corporate...nglenumber.html Currently only for businesses (so says the person at OCS after speaking to three people to find someone who'd heard of the product!) - but likely to be extended soon. For those of us wanting a Smartphone and a Pocket PC...possibly the perfect solution.
Guest chucky.egg Posted February 4, 2005 Report Posted February 4, 2005 (edited) Yeah, I like it Might see if we can get a trial setup at work Edited February 4, 2005 by chucky.egg

Guest C500mad Posted February 28, 2005 Report Posted February 28, 2005 Hi guys Costs at the moment are £30 connection fee and £3 per month running costs. Was launched and then some problems so back available from today. Ltd companies with more then 50 employees can certainly have it but the small business team will probably bring it on board soon especially as the small business team will be converged with the Business Solutions team in the near future
Guest TigerNet Posted March 1, 2005 Report Posted March 1, 2005 Please do let me know when this is available to small businesses as it is of great interest to me... ...you can PM me or e-mail [email protected] Cheers Nick
Guest adjonline Posted March 22, 2005 Report Posted March 22, 2005 Did anyone happen to get anymore news on this? A
Guest TigerNet Posted March 22, 2005 Report Posted March 22, 2005 I called the other day and was told that their billing system could not cope with this!!! The trial has been suspended to be re-instated when (if) the systems can cope... Cheers Nick
Guest C500mad Posted April 1, 2005 Report Posted April 1, 2005 Single number was off line for a couple of weeks but from the 28th of February it has been fully operational again for corporate customers - lets hope it will be available for small business soon
Guest TigerNet Posted April 1, 2005 Report Posted April 1, 2005 Single number was off line for a couple of weeks but from the 28th of February it has been fully operational again for corporate customers - lets hope it will be available for small business soon ...if this is true, once again an instance of the left hand not knowing what the right hand is doing... Cheers Nick
Guest C500mad Posted April 3, 2005 Report Posted April 3, 2005 That is customer services for you - ask them to look on their intranet site for the latest!
Guest TigerNet Posted April 4, 2005 Report Posted April 4, 2005 ...do you have some insider knowledge on this??? If so, please share as this is a service I am really waiting for... Cheers Nick
Guest adjonline Posted April 8, 2005 Report Posted April 8, 2005 Indeed...and how about just normal, bog-standard consumers?!
Guest bnoc Posted April 8, 2005 Report Posted April 8, 2005 I have been using an 0800 number for my small business for a number of months now. I had hoped to set it up so that when a call comes into the 0800 number it redirects to more than one phone so that whoever gets to their phone first can answer the csutomers call thus ensuring calls are answered quickly and there are no missed calls. We had a problem with this and I suspect Orange will have had the same problem so I am intrigued to know how they have got around it. If two or more phones ring because they have the same number then whichever phone answers first will prevent the other phone from receving the call. That in itself is not a problem, however if the phones have voicemail set up and one of the phones is either in an area without signal or switched off then the voicemail service will kick in before the other phone rings. The result being that none of the phones will ring and anybody that phones you will always get your voicemail (if one of your phones is off or out of signal). Any ideas? Barry
Guest C500mad Posted April 10, 2005 Report Posted April 10, 2005 Single number is up and running for all corporate customers with 50+ employees - you will need to speak to your account manager to get this set up as customer services can not do it but they can tell you that it is available and working You have a primary and a secondary number - both phones will not ring - You nominate your primary (sim) number and this phone will always be called first - If this phone is switched off it will go through to the secondary (sim) number. Both phones share the same voicemail and you can make outbound calls from either. Small business customers - eg less than 50 employees are now being looked at and will no doubt be launched shortly
Guest Monolithix [MVP] Posted April 13, 2005 Report Posted April 13, 2005 What if the primary phone is on but you don't answer, is it still forwarded to the second sim?
Guest adjonline Posted April 13, 2005 Report Posted April 13, 2005 Would be nice if just one time I phoned up to ask if it had been released to consumers yet, the operator had heard of the service!! Oh well...
Guest C500mad Posted April 19, 2005 Report Posted April 19, 2005 If you do not answer the call on your primary number it will route dependant upon how you set it up If everyphone is active on the SNGN, the call will be diverted to the Everyphone divert number, NOT THE SECONDARY! Next, if the Primary device is barred, the network will automatically try to route the call to the secondary device. If the SNGN/primary has a divert set up, the call will be diverted to the customer specified number (e.g. the answer phone) If the Primary device is turned OFF, then the network tries to route the call to the secondary device. Having checked all this information so far, the network then sees if the handset is reachable (i.e. in coverage). If the device is not reachable (out of coverage) then the network tries to route the call to the secondary device. If the device is reachable, but busy, the call will be diverted as specified by the customer. If the call is busied out by the customer, the call will be diverted as specified by the customer. If the call is not answered, the call will be diverted as specified by the customer and not automatically forwarded to the secondary device. Finally if the call is answered – the incoming call is connected. All this choice in a matter of seconds!
