Guest caseyd Posted February 4, 2005 Report Posted February 4, 2005 I am trying to find a smartphone for sprint pcs (CDMA) in the US. I am looking for one that uses windows mobile, I can only seem to find one made by samsung, which doesn't really look all that great to me. I was hoping one of you may know of one from another country or something that would work over here. Thanks
Guest xenophobe Posted February 4, 2005 Report Posted February 4, 2005 The very reason I left Sprint... actually one of two reasons... 1) no cool smartphones 2) no international sms. I'm with AT&T for almost 3 weeks now, and have the Audiovox SMT 5600, and oddly the AT&T signal in my area is about 3x better than Cingular. I was a customer of sprintpcs for almost 8 years, and they always dicked me around on new phones and replacement...
Guest caseyd Posted February 4, 2005 Report Posted February 4, 2005 sadly i have to stay with sprint, because I am on a corperate plan with my job.
Guest xenophobe Posted February 4, 2005 Report Posted February 4, 2005 Well, you're pretty much stuck with the Samsung or the Treo stuff. I can't believe how much they wanted for the Samsung A700, which I was about to buy, but since I had switched from my StarTac to a Samsung, which I didn't like, and switched back after a month, they wouldn't give me the discount for using the phone for more than 18 months. My StarTac finally died after many years of use, and they wouldn't offer me a comparable or phone of my choice for replacement, at discounted price. After playing with the Audiovox C500 for a few days, I knew I made the right choice, so sorry to hear about you being stuck with sprint. The call quality is great, but I can't say enough bad things about their service or their phone lineup.
Guest nobznss Posted February 4, 2005 Report Posted February 4, 2005 They do have the i600 remember. I've read a lot of positive and negative things about it though. Never had the chance to play around with it much. It is a smartphone though... even though it's EXTREMELY overpriced.

After I saw what kind of phone I was getting with AT&T, I'm really glad I left Sprint. The Samsung SP-i600= $649.99 -$150 instant savings (if you open a new account), and -$30 if you buy it online on their site for $469 and doesn't even have a camera. I got my Audiovox for $349 + tax, - $200 worth of in store rebates, and after my 30-trial period is over, they're going to credit my account for the $149 left, so in essence, I get it for free, all I had to do is pay taxes on $149. That math isn't difficult for me to understand. lol Edited February 6, 2005 by xenophobe
Guest ShaneBoyd Posted February 7, 2005 Report Posted February 7, 2005 So, the Samsung is the only really decent one for Sprint?
