Guest (MW)Slayer Posted February 4, 2005 Report Posted February 4, 2005 (edited) Hello people, and welcome to my first topic. :D although I am not that new to the smartphone sceene, this is my first spv.. Nothing to complain about, everything works fine... except that I can't find a way to send files through bluetooth to other phones. I am only able to send contacts. It also doesen't find any BT devices in the IR menu. Nonetheless, I can receive files from other phones and BT PCsync works fine. IR also has some issues, when it connects o certain phones, it displays the phone's name and then exists to the homescreen, not transfering the file. I presumed this may be due to incompatibility. I encountered this issue with nokia6100 and siemens sl55. Also, even if I han't given it much consideration, is there any way to assign mp3 ringtones? Edited February 4, 2005 by (MW)Slayer
Guest TheSneak Posted February 5, 2005 Report Posted February 5, 2005 (edited) I don't think you can assign MP3's as ringtones best thing you can do is convert the MP3's to WAV format do a google hunt on MP3 > WAV convertors if you have not already got one installed As for Bluetooth transfer of files I can now send bluetooth files to any bluetooth device that is visible & has a file transfer service. But only after installing smartexplorer from http://www.binarys.com/default_en.asp Edited February 5, 2005 by TheSneak
Guest squall Posted February 7, 2005 Report Posted February 7, 2005 you cant use mp3s as tones unfortunatly, wma work for the ringtone but not the message tones etc. For that you should use a .wav file, i would put it in storage/applation data/sounds
Guest btbrad Posted February 14, 2005 Report Posted February 14, 2005 i was wondering if you get charged for sending files using bluetooth? On my current plan, i get charged for texting and such. DOes Bluetooth get around this? BRAD
Guest xenophobe Posted February 14, 2005 Report Posted February 14, 2005 No. Bluetooth connections are local, and are not done through any carrier, they are p2p. Device to device, that is. You have to be within range of another bluetooth user to send/receive.
