Guest ricmoo2003 Posted February 4, 2005 Report Posted February 4, 2005 My Imate plays mp3 ringtones by default, if you look in picture caller there is an option to assign a ringtone to a caller and you can select any MP3, WAV, WMA you like wherever it is stored. I don't mean to rock the boat but can't you all do this? Richard
Guest Disco Stu Posted February 4, 2005 Report Posted February 4, 2005 Stop showing off  :D It's actually not that common with Smartphones, certainly none of the SPV range allow it

Guest PaulF Posted August 23, 2005 Report Posted August 23, 2005 On my M500 I've set an MP3 ringtone both in the 'standard' place (for all incoming calls) and using Photo Contacts for individual callers. All I did was copy the MP3's into the Windows Ring folder.... PaulF
Guest grumble Posted August 25, 2005 Report Posted August 25, 2005 On my MDA Compact out of the box it was possible to set mp3's as ringtones. Installing third-party (e.g. better) media player (GSplayer or similar) breaks the file association with the WMP engine which it appears is used to play ringtones. Uninstalling the app made no difference, the association wasnt restored. I got round this by converting the mp3's I wanted to WMA
