Guest Dannyc500 Posted February 5, 2005 Report Posted February 5, 2005 Hi. Firstly the problem. Just before i get a text message my phone will light up about a half second before i receieve the envelope icon. Recently ive been texting someone and they said they have replied a straight after, yet i recieve it 10-20 mins later, sometimes nearlyl an hour. Yesterday my phone lit up, but no message was recieved. I kept having to turn on/off my phone so it could grab a stronger signal. What is this and how can i resolve it? At the moment im doing a hard reset of my phone and would like to know where the text, media message folders are stored so i can copy them across from my pc to put back on later when i complete the hard reset. Thanks in advance!
Guest Dannyc500 Posted February 5, 2005 Report Posted February 5, 2005 Never mind hard reset it now.
Guest pietta Posted February 5, 2005 Report Posted February 5, 2005 sounds like network problem. on weekeends orange is seriously overloaded and maybe that could be it
Guest chucky.egg Posted February 5, 2005 Report Posted February 5, 2005 Although it sounds like the sort of thing OCS might say, in my experience you DO need to leave your phone off for about a minute when you switch it off/on in the hope of a better signal Also I've done a lot of testing of SMS recently and found that message delays (particularly across networks) are still very variable. Anything between 2 and 10 seconds on the same network is common, but I have had instances where 20 minutes has elapsed before I've had the message delivered.
Guest Dannyc500 Posted February 5, 2005 Report Posted February 5, 2005 Yeah i always leave it one or two mins before i reset it. Well done a clean factory restore and upgrade to latest ROM, everything should work better now. Cheers.
