Guest rannoch Posted February 5, 2005 Report Posted February 5, 2005 Using ActiveSync I can sync with Outlook, but I'm getting far more than I want. For example, I open ActiveSync on PC, and select Options, tick Inbox, and then click settings. I then have a tree list of the folders within Outlook. I check the boxes against the folders I want to be sync'd, and that works. The problem is that I get all the folders within the PC's Outlook - even the ones I don't need to be sync'd. How can I get rid of these on the C500. Regards, Rannoch
Guest Confucious Posted February 5, 2005 Report Posted February 5, 2005 Why is this posted in the "Articles" forum? What do you mean? Which folders do you get that you don't want?
Guest rannoch Posted February 5, 2005 Report Posted February 5, 2005 Sorry, I've added this to the wrong section. Can it be moved. I have folders in Outlook on the PC which I don't want on the c500. For example, AVG Virus Vault, Business Contacts, Junk e-mails, personal folders (this is for business use), Outbox, etc. When I go into option 3 Outlook e-mail and then Folders I see every folder replicated on the phone. I only want specific folders on the phone. can that be done? Regards, Rannoch
Guest Confucious Posted February 6, 2005 Report Posted February 6, 2005 Outbox, inbox, sent, deleted items and drafts are there by defafult the iothers you can select. On PC ->Activesync->options->Inbox->SettingsExpand the inbox tree and just tick the boxes you want to Sync and untick the ones you don't want. - It's quite dificult to select them all as by default only the inbox is selected. HTH A mod should move this to the correct section, It's easily done when your new to the forums, I, on the other hand, have no such excuse when I get it wrong
Guest gpcarreon (MVP) Posted February 6, 2005 Report Posted February 6, 2005 Yah I moved it here.
Guest rannoch Posted February 6, 2005 Report Posted February 6, 2005 That's the sequence I carried out the first time I sync'd using ActiveSync, and I tested the sync'd bit. ie I setup a couple of e-mails in one of the folders I wanted sync'd and one in one I didn't. The correct sync worked. The issue iI have s that even having done the above the first time I sync'd, ALL the folders (not the contents) within Inbox copied to the phone. Is there a way to stop that, or delete, or hide folders on the phone. Regards, rannoch PS Thanks for moving item.
Guest Confucious Posted February 6, 2005 Report Posted February 6, 2005 Sorry, you are right, I hadn't actually noticed before but all the folders are there (just empty) and there doesn't appear to be a way of deleting them. I just ignore them. Why is it a major problem for you? A bit of a pain having to move between folders but nothing that annoys me personally.
Guest rannoch Posted February 6, 2005 Report Posted February 6, 2005 I've noticed an option which might assist. Start/Messaging/Outlook E-Mail/menu/folders/menu/ at this point you get two options "Show All Folders" and "Manage Folders". The "Manage Folders" is greyed out. Is this a way of hiding the unwanted folders. Regards, rannoch
