BT in general blows chunks...

Is it just me...(I certainly hope not!)....or is BT as a whole really as poorly implemented as it seems to be?

I just spent 1.5 hours getting a single SMT5600 phone and laptop to bond, create serial connection and get active sync 3.8 working!!

Getting my T616 talking was just as bad...last time I tried I gave up!

It's interesting something seemingly so simple could be so friggin tough to get working properly.

I have known about the XP SP2 issues with loading up the MS Generic BT Enumerator and radio for there own damn BT mice and key boards for a while now....even knowing this going in doesn't help much though.

And how about the damn Widcomm "key" you need to unlock BT stack management tools. If you loose the CD from the original BT driver CD....you have to go to there web site which has never worked for me to generate a valid key although I know my MAC Address to be correctly entered.

As I am sure you know, these are NOT the only problems found when trying to get BT Active Sync working.

On Mac 10.37...(likely earlier also)....I plugged in my BT dongle...DLINK DBT-120...had my T616 turned on...and BAM!!...it just worked.

Bt on MS and MS Smart Phones should come with a stupid simple...really....like we are complete idiots...wizard or better yet...be fully plug and play...(turn it on...get a notification of devices near by, and enter pin....then sync.).

OK...

I guess I should be happy my phones can sync via BT and not worry about how bad it is to get working....

wow....I can only imagine how pissed off a house wife or teen ager might get trying to use BT. :oops:

I had problems connecting my old T610 to my PC...

Ended up trying it on my brothers computer (almost exactly the same setup), and it worked first time (only difference between the 2 computers is that mine has a 56k modem installed)...

What's the point in useful hardware when the software/drivers suck?!?
