WMP Fast Forward

I've ripped and keep an array of movies available on my SmartPhone, and enjoy watching them while on my weekly travels. The one problem I've run into is the requirement to shut off the phone when taking off or landing, which obviously resets the movie to the beginning. It takes sooooo long to fast forward back to the same location that it often isn't worth the trouble. Is there any way to super-fast forward through a movie, or start it at a specific position?

wmp sucks for this sort of thing, i would use beta player!
