MiniSD Card - will a 1Gb work in the SPV C500?

I have just purchased an Imate SPV C500 on Orange.

It came with a 16Mb Mini SD card but as I want to store MP3 music and DivX video files on my phone I want a bigger memory card.

So I am considering getting a 1Gb SanDisk memory card.

But will the 1Gb card work in the SPV C500 or is there a memory limit ?

I cannot decide whether to get...

- a 1Gb costing £72.59 inc VAT, more than what I wanted to pay really

or

- a 512Mb costing £38.81 inc VAT

I presume music and video will play OK from these memory cards ?

1Gb will work in your C500.

I have 512Mb, which is mostly taken up with music and TomTom Mobile.

I'd suggest you go for the biggest card you can afford/get, because swapping cards on the C500 means taking the battery off.

I just looked at the Tera-Vit 1gig card from the MoDaCo shop....

ITS £149.99 (inc VAT) !!!!

So why is the SanDisk 1Gb card £72.59 but the Tera-Vit 1Gb card £149.99 ???

Thats more than twice the price !!!!

They both hold the same amount of data so what's the difference ?

Is one better than the other in some way ?

I just tried to order the SanDisk 1Gb but they are not available until the end of February / beginning of March (neither are the 512Mb).

It's the free market economy dude !

We've had this discussion elsewhere and don't want to reopen it but, in summary, Shop had them first and priced them at market rate at that time. Since we're talking reputable manufacturers there should be no difference in quality.

Did you try www.gmkbatteries.co.uk and/or www.mobymemory.co.uk?

GMK said they were expecting 1Gb stock on 14th Feb

MobyMemory still had some in stock last time I checked (£120 though)

The price difference? It's just down to when the supplier got the stock, and the price they had to pay at the time.
