Problem Description:

I cannot delete synchronized e-mail from my Smartphone without synchronization removing the e-mail from my Outlook 2002 Inbox.

I would like to sync new e-mails to my SMT5600 Smartphone to read while I am offline. This requires the entire e-mail to be downloaded. This uses a lot of space. Therefore, I delete the e-mails after I read them. However, I need to keep my orginal e-mail in the Outlook Inbox on the desktop computer. Deleting e-mail from the Smartphone results in the messages being deleted from Outlook.

I would like to change this default behavior of Activesync 3.8.

This may not be as granular as you're hoping for but it does get you close.

Start up the Space Maker application (Start Menu/Resource Mgmt./Space Maker). In the Space Maker application, bring up Menu=>Erase E-mail=>Read. This will nuke all of the e-mail marked as read on your phone but will leave it intact on your PC. There are other, folder based variants that you can use as well but the one I suggested works best for me.
