Is hard reset the same as the clear storage option under accessories?, as the soft keys and power doesn't seem to work on my phone.

When you do a hard reset (using soft keys and power button), make sure your phone charger is not plugged in to your phone.

Clear storage does do the same kind of job but there is a difference of which I'm not 100% sure about.

It took me a few attempts doing my first hard reset but comes with ease the more you need to do it.

Thanks Boris, are the later versons of the c500 equipped with this key combo, I must have tried at least 40 times with nothing?

Unplug the USB cable or charger before trying to press the key combination. It doesn't work if it's plugged in.

Yeah done that, does the phone need to be on or off before key press?

The phone needs to be off. Press and hold the two softkeys, then press and release the power button like you would for turning the phone on. Don't release the two softkeys until you see the black screen telling you to press 0 to reset it. When you see it, release the two keys and pres 0 quickly.
