Guest FrankyG Posted February 8, 2005 Report Posted February 8, 2005 As you probably know, activesync needs to use COM ports 9 or below, but often it's only port numbers higher than this which are available. You need to make all devices in device manager visible, not just the 'hidden' ones. Follow the instructions here http://www.winguides.com/registry/display.php/1107/ and then go ahead and delete some of the COM ports from 9 and below. I had something like 18 COM ports which had been previously assigned (from installing/uninstalling Bluetooth/Widdcom drivers) which I managed to free up! After doing this, I could assign Activesync pretty much any COM port (only COM 1 + 2 were actually in use) from 9 and below and from then on Bluetooth Activesync has worked perfectly. HTH
