HELP ! MPX220 on Vodafone

Any ideas?

I have bought an MPX 220 from Expansys - ROM Software 1.1.50 together with Vodafone connection porting in my Virgin mobile number.

When I insert my now active Vodafone SIM I get an error 'Invalid or missing SIM' if I put it into any other phone the SIM works fine.

In addition all other Vodafone SIM cards tried in the the MPX work fine?!

Spoke to Vodafone who suggested a replacement SIM which local vodafone store did but still no luck.

Vodafone technical now seem to think it may be to do with the 'number range' my mobile number starts 0791 and they believe I need a firmware upgrade - of course this isn't available for UK or Euro MPX 220's !

Any ideas?

I think u should just contact Expansys they should be able to RMA the MPX220 for you.

Here goes then - sorted the problem ...... after many calls and emails to Vodafone technical .... it would appear that the last four digits of the SIM card refer to the SIM card hardware version and it would appear that G266 is not compatible - got them to change the SIM card for a different hardware version and it works perfectly now.

Yea RMA is a Manufacture Replacement. It you suspect the product has a manufacture defect.

No it was as listed above the wrong hardware SIM but I agree took me sometime to figure out how to insert the SIM - then saw the pic right next to it DUH !
