Guest malibu Posted February 9, 2005 Report Posted February 9, 2005 I noticed you can use MSN Messenging, but can you use AOL Instant Messenging (considering all my friends use AIM) 2nd question, Is a Audiovox SMT 5600 a good phone compared to other smartphones?
Guest martin Posted February 9, 2005 Report Posted February 9, 2005 1 You can use Agile Messenger http://www.agilemobile.com/downloads.html 2 Audiovox SMT 5600 is the same phone as SPV C500, i-mate SP3, xphone II. It's called the HTC Typhoon and it's probably the best MS smartphone on the market IMO
Guest malibu Posted February 9, 2005 Report Posted February 9, 2005 alright thanks man. I don't know what service provider sells the Audiovox. attwireless doesn't even show the phone in their product list. Why is it so hard to find these phones?
Guest Confused Stu Posted February 9, 2005 Report Posted February 9, 2005 You cannot use AOL Messenger as standard, but I've heard that's one of the ones you can use through an add-on program called "Agile Messenger". Haven't tried it or got any links though - anyone know more? As for the SMT5600, that's the same phone as the C500 - the current pinnacle of Smartphone design! I know other's will shoot down that opinion and say the MPX220, or Jam, are better but my opinion is the C500 is currently head of a very strong royal family of smartphones! That said, if your SMT5600 is straight out of the box, it's way, way poorer than it will be if you play around with it a little. Search through MoDaCo for any topics around "must have add ons" and start downloading! Your phone is only officially cool once you've ripped your favourite DVD onto it, surfed your favourite porn site via your broadband connection and the phone's bluetooth, and played the SNES game "Final Fight 2" on it! Your journey has begun. Enjoy where it takes you!
Guest Confused Stu Posted February 9, 2005 Report Posted February 9, 2005 Note to self - too long typing a too long message = Stu ends up looking stupid!

If you are familiar with Trillian for your PC, it is generally like that. It runs MSN Messenger, AIM, ICQ, Yahoo... and others. All simultaniously (SP?). It works pretty well, and it's free!! I had the Mpx200 before my Audiovox. I miss the flip-phone function, but over all the Audiovox is a better phone. I just need a screen protector before I screw it up.

Why is it so hard to find these phones? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> $49 after rebates at Amazon... http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detai...reless&n=301187 If you have any AT&T Wireless stores in your neighborhood they should have them in stock, but at a higher price. I'm not talking about a Cingular store, but an old AT&T Store that would also display a Cingular banner...
Guest hunyango_uk Posted March 1, 2005 Report Posted March 1, 2005 agile messenger works great! on my c500!!!
