Can I use a Retractable USB cable with the Jam?

Hi Everyone,

Will a USB A-Mini 5-pin B cable work with the Jam? I really want to use a retractable cable to charge and sync, but don't want to fry the phone. Radio Shack part # 26-708 is what I'm looking at.

I tried one of these retractable usb cables (not radio shack one) on my C500 and i got nothing from it, no charge or sync. Considering the C500's USB cable will both charge and sync the Jam, I wouldnt be hopeful, but maybe someone else will have direct experience with the radio shack one.... Anyone?
