Hello Forum,

I'm finding that when I reach for my M2000 and get it out of it's case, it's on! Even with the button lock on it seems that receipt of an SMS or any other message will wake the PPC side of it up and consequently allow screen taps and other button presses.

Even if you go into start > settings > sounds & notifcations and disable everything it still wakes the PPC up when you receive an SMS.

What I want is to be able to shut the PPC down but sill receive and be alerted to incoming calls/SMS etc, but not to wake up the PPC and therefore allow screen taps/button presses.

Any input anyone?

Yeah i agree it will be good if there is a way, im sick of finding my M2000 has gone into calendar or started GPRS after i've had a text or something and i haven't heard it.

Yeah, I'm finding this problem too.

Whilst im here does anyone know how to screen lock the device but leave the MP3 player playing?

put in a password so if you leave the phone for a specific period of time it will disable the keys until the password is put in, go to settings > password.

Just as you posted this I discovered MortSaver, which is exactly what I needed

I downloaded Mort Saver but got the message that "This application may not display as intended . . . . designed for an earlier version of Windows . . . "

Now I've had this message with various apps. but Mortsaver just seems to do sweet FA.

Any ideas or hints???

I've found that the vast majority of apps warn about that. PPC 2003 has a landscape display mode, which is new. Some apps don't like it, but most seem fine. Almost all can't handle a switch while they are running though (or they do, with serveral "quirks", so it's sometimes best to close them down first.

Hi,

Thanks for that info. Do you have any experience of this particular app. not working properly because of this?

Nah, just a few others but it seems a common trend. Used to happen on desktops too, since changing resolution became a non-rebootable offence. Many apps just weren't built for the changing envrionment. Usually they work file, for example in ftxBrowser (a tabbed browser), the tabs don't redraw and only use up two thirds of the width once you switch to landscape mode.
