Guest chiefdave Posted February 9, 2005 Report Posted February 9, 2005 at the moment i've got an e200 which i upgraded to after all sorts of problems with the mpx200. i'm fairly happy with it barring a few problems which i'll detail later but it's now developed a fault with the joypad, i'm assuming care will replace it with another e200 but it's got me thinking about upgrading again. to be honest i've been waiting for the mpx but that seems to keep being put back. So should i go for the c500 or should i stick with my e200 and wait for the mpx or is there something else altogether i haven't considered. The problems i've had with the e200 are: short battery life low signal problem with the pop3 client getting messages mixed up so you end up with the messages you thought you'd deleted and can't get the ones you actually want! low volume on ringtones, this may just be me but half the time if the phones in my pocket i don't hear it ring i've looked at the c500 reviews and the only thing that concerns me is the joypad, how good is it, it looks ok for the menus etc but what about gaming. also what processor speed / internal memory does it have compared to the e200 (not that i'm sure what that's got!) the other concern i have with the c500 is the sd card location, surely not the best piece of design there???
Guest Chaser81 Posted February 9, 2005 Report Posted February 9, 2005 Get an I-Mate Jam, give in to your feelings, you know you want one! [-o
Guest chiefdave Posted February 9, 2005 Report Posted February 9, 2005 Get an I-Mate Jam, give in to your feelings, you know you want one! [-o< <{POST_SNAPBACK}> not really looking for something that size, plus i'm happy with the os on the e200 pretty much so am not really looking to change to a different os and have the hassle of replacing all the software i've got. obviously if there was a massive advantage to another os then i'd change but i can't really see a reason to change to this device, do you know of any?
Guest James Posted February 9, 2005 Report Posted February 9, 2005 c500 evey day mate! Its quicked, more stable, smaller, better camera and built/feels much better! MUCH BETTER E200 is 120Mhz while the C500 is 200Mhz with more memory All you E200 apps will still run on the C500. hope this helps a bit!
Guest chiefdave Posted February 9, 2005 Report Posted February 9, 2005 c500 evey day mate! i'm def leaning towards getting one, the plan being get the e200 replaced on care so i've got that as either a spare or to sell then get the upgrade. having looked at some c500 reviews it seems a good buy. couple of things i can't seem to find much info on is how good the joypad is, it looks like it would make games pretty tricky and also if the pop3 client is improved
Guest James Posted February 9, 2005 Report Posted February 9, 2005 i would say it is a bit harder to use with games... depending on what type.
Guest john.-h Posted February 9, 2005 Report Posted February 9, 2005 i have owned all the spv range and its got to be the c500, all the power of the e200 longer battery life and half the size
Guest xenophobe Posted February 11, 2005 Report Posted February 11, 2005 A lot of games that require multiple keypresses or multidirectional control don't work well. Racing games and some shooters don't play well. That being said, I finished the first mission of Doom on my SMT 5600 last night, and will continue to finish the rest of them. I've gotten pretty proficient with it on my phone.
Guest Monolithix [MVP] Posted February 11, 2005 Report Posted February 11, 2005 E200 is 120Mhz while the C500 is 200Mhz with more memory Just FYI, the c500 has the same amount of memory as the e200. The processor is faster though which makes all the difference
