Guest hooperman Posted February 9, 2005 Report Posted February 9, 2005 My question is this. I notice that on Midnights MSN homescreen that he uses javascript to show the date time on the homescreen through the RJHTML plugin. Is it possible to use javascript in html to show an animated gif or scrolling text on a homescreen for example?
Guest drblow Posted February 9, 2005 Report Posted February 9, 2005 I don't know about java, but you can use animated gifs with the html plugin just by adding them to an html as images. Only problem is extreme battery useage!
Guest hooperman Posted February 11, 2005 Report Posted February 11, 2005 I have managed to get an animated gif on my homescreen and yes you are right about the battery lif. It has halved on my SP3i since putting on the homescreen, although the battery still lasts a lot longer than my old MPX200! Also, the gif is quite jerky - is this normal?
Guest drblow Posted February 11, 2005 Report Posted February 11, 2005 Not really - I seem to remeber doing this a while ago, and the gif worked and looked fine. It was just battery life that was the issue.
