Does anyone else have a problem using their original wired headset with the C500?

Mine seems to loose connection intermittently, even if it's just sitting on the table and not moving.

Even when it is working I often get told I sound "very far away". It usually seems that people at the other end of the line can hear me better over the speakerphone than they can when I use the headset.

This is exactly the problem I had when I tried out the SP3i.

Does anyone have a suggestion for a fix? I don't mind buying a new headset if somebody can recommend one that will definitely fix the problem.

I've had this same problem. Also happens with a headset adapter I purchased used with a high quality Shure headset. I have more info on the "very far away" sound you hear. Sometimes (usually), even though the headset is plugged in, the microphone on the phone is still picking up the sound! So, if you have the phone sitting on the car seat for example, and you are wearing the headset, the sound will be "far away" because the phone mic is picking up the sound.

I really could use some help with this because my car is noise an sound qualiity on this phone without a headset is poor.

I went for a bluetooth headset in the end. Works really well.
