Guest Peterade Posted February 10, 2005 Report Posted February 10, 2005  Calamity. I was getting on with my C500 so well when I dropped it two feet onto a vinyl floor. The power button has stuck in and it just won't work. Does anyone know how to take the cover off so I can see if I can fix it? I don't mean the battery cover. It's not insured. Thanks
Guest Confused Stu Posted February 11, 2005 Report Posted February 11, 2005 Damn - for what it's worth, man, I'm sorry. It is possible to strip apart the C500 (there are a few threads dedicated to it under the heading of dust problems). Here's one thread that includes my instructions for doing it: De-dusting the SPV thread One thing to bear in mind though, you need to remove part of a "void" sticker to do it, which means any warranty WILL be void, and they WILL be able to tell! That said, my view was that the warranty didn't cover what was wrong with it so what good was it anyway? :( Good luck getting it fixed. If you do decide to take it apart, do it when you have lots of time available and take it easy. Do it first time when you're rushed, stressed or angry and you may as well go Nokia shopping now, my friend!
Guest Peterade Posted February 11, 2005 Report Posted February 11, 2005 Thanks for that Stu, The instructions are very good so I'll save them for next problem. As for now, I've returned it to the manufacturer.
