Guest wattsie_2004 Posted February 11, 2005 Report Posted February 11, 2005 I recently got a Nokia 6230 on contract with Orange and I can't make ANY data calls. I had tried Orange GSM (didn't work) and also a number of 0845 or 0800 ISP's (which would work on a landline or from my PAYG sim card) however on the contract sim, the dialled call will be dropped after giving an "inexistent number tone" and the error message "File Format Unknown" is displayed. Anyone got any ideas? Please?
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted February 11, 2005 Report Posted February 11, 2005 Welcoem to the site  This site is for Microsoft Smarthones which nokia phones do not have. One thing for you to try is to contact your network and check that GPRS has been enabled on your account.
Guest tudor Posted February 11, 2005 Report Posted February 11, 2005 Make sure that your SIM is GPRS enabled - you may need some SIM upgrades from Orange (call them and tell them that you want to access the internet). If the above doesn't work, go to settings and delete all the GPRS access points from there, then go to http://www.nokia.com/nokia/0,6771,32863,00.html and get the settings for your network (they get sent to you over the air.
