Guest Colorin Posted February 11, 2005 Report Posted February 11, 2005 I am interested in purchasing either a SMT5600 or SP3i. I like the SMT5600 because it's dirt cheap, but the lack of a joystick is bad for games. The SP3i is nice because it has a joystick (although I've read bad things about it), but it's expensive. I also intend to buy a new Dell Axim and ABSOLUTELY need to make sure that I can transfer files via BT between the two. I've read that there is no OBEX support in the SMT5600 to do a file-transfer to the PDA, is this true? Will that Smart Explorer program get around this somehow? If not does the SP3i support OBEX file transfer via BT to a PDA? I read that it did. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks.
Guest TheDiggia Posted February 11, 2005 Report Posted February 11, 2005 Hi Colorin! I have an Axim X5 with Billionton BT CF card and an I-mate SP3. I can send files from sp3 to Axim without any problems, but on the opposite I can't. So i can't send files from Axim to Sp3. There is another person with the same problem here and I've posted a topic here But at the moment I didn't receive any suggestions... But i want to resolve this problem...

Although I have read some reviews that say the SMT5600 has it, although I've come not to trust reviews overly much. I do understand that SP3i does have this (upgraded feature) but a lot of people seem to be having problems with the SP3i. Hopefully someone on here can answer our question though, if I here anything elsewhere I'll let you know.
Guest TheDiggia Posted February 12, 2005 Report Posted February 12, 2005 The problem for me is only with Axim.... With PC and the others phones I have in my home I have no problem in sending and receiving files. The only problem is sending files from PPC to SP3..... However I suggest you to buy the SP3i... I hope there is a way to send files with PPC also...
