Is anyone in a position to offer views on the relative merits of the two handsets?

I knwo the fature comparison - I'm wondering about things like weight (does the keyboard make a big difference), speed (does the processor make a big difference), etc...

Many thanks.

I have an XDA IIi and I'm very happy with it, but your question seems aimed only at people who have both devices. (?)

Well those who've used both of them, yep.

Well in XDA-DEVELOPERS mentioned something about the bad camera in XDAIIi comparing to the other previous devices , anyway in my opinion, I have the PDA2K, I use the camera often it's not that bad but still I'd like to have more CPU speed.

I noticed something as well, the BT in the PDA2K is very bad it has a short range comparing to the Himalaya.

I used to use a BT dongle, which could let me sync with my pc over 60 meters, with the PDA2K I'm using the same dongle I should be in range of 3-4 meters for max..

Since I got a PCI WI-FI it’s giving me the same range as the old BT, I’m syncing now over WI-FI instead of the BT

I've had no probems with the bluetooth as such with the 2i, it seems to connect instantly to all my old devices. WLAN is the same.

Yes the camera is dodgy, but only in low light or very bright light areas. Many people think its a software problem rather than anything else, so it should be fixed with a ROM update.

Personally I don't really see any advantage the 2s has over the 2i, unless you really really want a keyboard.

I certainly don't want one, which is really why I went for the 2i, cos it makes the device massive, heavy, and gives it that one extra thing to go wrong.

It seems the only real differences (ignoring the speed increase of the processor) are keyboard (or lack of), form factor and (most important for some) price.
