Guest uther Posted February 12, 2005 Report Posted February 12, 2005 Is there a way to adjust the timeout of the external LCD display when the phone is closed? I hate having to open the phone to see if I've missed a call or have text messages. Ideally, I would like for it to stay on constantly.
Guest jleecong Posted February 12, 2005 Report Posted February 12, 2005 HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Controlpanel/Backlight/CMCS_SLCDTimeout The default value of 6000 is equal to 6 seconds. 15000 = 15 seconds, 30000 = 30 seconds, etc.
Guest uther Posted February 13, 2005 Report Posted February 13, 2005 That's great, thanks. Any chance that the external screen and internal screen can turn on and off separately? When I adjust this registry setting, it also leaves the internal screen on after I close the phone. I suspect the two cannot be adjusted separately, but if anybody knows of a way...
Guest cortez Posted February 13, 2005 Report Posted February 13, 2005 you know when the phone is closed you can hit the volume up key for a second and the external display will show the message and/or missed call icon if you've received a message or missed a call.

On my phone when you close the phone the screen shuts of regardless of timeout. Much like when you are on a call using speakerphone and close the phone it hangs up.
