I've had 2003 on my MPx200 for about a month now, got it pretty much sorted and set up the way I like and I'm especially enjoying not being shackled to Orange. A couple of things that I wanted to know and hoped someone could help with;

T9, ahh yes. The bane of everyone's life. Does anyone know how to add words to this? 2002 had this functionality but I'm finding 2003 a little trickier to use and it doesn't seem to remember words I typed in. I had a search through the forum and I didn't see any post re this specific issue, lots of other problems though!

On an unrelated note, had a shot of my mate's MPx yesterday, nice piece of kit (should be at $1000), he did comment that straight out of the box its setup and configuration is hellish, you really need to rearrange everything to minimise the load on the processor and memory, once you have everything coming off or going onto the SD card (even the temp internet files have to be rerouted there otherwise it runs out of memory after 10 pages of browsing!) its actually quite a nice piece of kit.

We did discover that the MPx200’s headset works with the MPx, albeit with slightly limited functionality. Once you have configured the phone to allow calls to made/ended with external controls (a setting under the contacts section) you can answer incoming calls using the headset button if someone calls you but strangely, you cannot hang up, you can only hang up if it was you that initiated the call in the first place. Given that the phone ships with a single mono earpiece, not a stereo headset this is better than nothing at all!

T9 english on the 2003 ROM is terrible, one of the many reasons why people go back to 2002.

somewhere in the net, there was a simple utility using which you could add some words to t9. it was pc-based utility so adding the words takes less time.

btw. do you know where can i get stereo headset to my mpx200?? (reasonably priced :lol:)
