Guest losteagle Posted February 15, 2005 Report Posted February 15, 2005 I recently look at the Smart Amazing Phone 2 (based on VOYAGER for Philippines market) and the new ROM update (1.11.13.0) have a Java Midlet Manager integrated. The other functions seems to be equal to imate/Qtek ROM with several services customization from SMART Communication provider. Have anyone tried it ? the link is http://www.smart.com.ph/SMART/Products/Sma...2_reinstall.htm
Guest losteagle Posted February 15, 2005 Report Posted February 15, 2005 some problem with the link ... this is the correct one : SAP 2 ROM Update excuse me
Guest arman68 Posted February 21, 2005 Report Posted February 21, 2005 Looks interesting. Anyone tried?
Guest arman68 Posted February 21, 2005 Report Posted February 21, 2005 I could not get the update to work on my phone. Tried the modified bootloader, the mofified greek one, replacing the file on the fly; nothing worked.
Guest arman68 Posted February 22, 2005 Report Posted February 22, 2005 Still no luck getting it installed. It is possible to decrypt the rom though, with: xda2nbftool -x nk.nbf nk.nba 0x16003520 But from there I don't know how to calculate the checksum after changing the manufacturer id. Can anyone help? BTW looking at the rom I have found that is it version 1.11.13.35 (imate is the most recent I know of, with version 1.11.15.32; orange 2.7.5.1 is version 1.11.5.29). I don't know about the radio version. It also contains more stuff than the imate rom, and I would be interested to see the javavm in action. It would be great if somebody had the skills to do a rom cooker for as well: that way we could take the best bits from each rom, and build a better one.
Guest losteagle Posted February 22, 2005 Report Posted February 22, 2005 Sorry for my newbie question, but where the number 0x16003520 comes from ? Is the same for all the ROM (I use a QTEK 8080 1.11.10.36) ? You have any idea of what languages are implemented in ROM (is for asian market I suppose ...) :?: Thanks  Still no luck getting it installed. Guest SKOOBICE Posted March 8, 2005 Report Posted March 8, 2005 (edited) AAAAAGGGHHH!!! Someone needs to make this work cos SAP rom looks great!!! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> losteagle has tried this rom and says it has crap battery life so unless you like having a java midlet (which you can get for any rom anyway!!) there is no point in trying this rom!!!
