Guest Paul [MVP] Posted February 15, 2005 Report Posted February 15, 2005 Cheers RossDargan for the heads up... from CNet: Underscoring the dramatic price drops in the market for memory cards, flash memory specialist SanDisk said Monday that it will sell a 1GB mini SD card for $100. ... SanDisk's new card will be available in the second quarter, which is typically the weakest when it comes to demand. Combined with an overabundance of memory in the market, lower prices aren't a big surprise, and more drops are expected. They're a bit late to market, but the $100 price point is great! Click the link above for the full article. P
Guest XiXora Posted February 15, 2005 Report Posted February 15, 2005 now thats news i like to hear, i JUST bought a c500... was looking arond for 512mb mini sd cards and i see that  i think i'll wait :(
Guest xenophobe Posted February 15, 2005 Report Posted February 15, 2005 They're not late to the market. 1 gig miniSD cards are nowhere to be found except at a few online retailers, mostly in Europe for insane prices. There isn't a single one on ebay right now, and none of the US retailers have any in stock, not even Fry's Electronics. Even finding them online is a bit of a task too. I think it's great that SanDisk is pricing them at $100.
Guest Confucious Posted February 16, 2005 Report Posted February 16, 2005 £53 is extraordinary  Price in USD - add import taxes, VAT etc (is this wholesale or retail price?) and it will be interesting to see what us suckers in the UK are expected to pay! :(
Guest zwarthoed. Posted February 16, 2005 Report Posted February 16, 2005 here is one for € 85 :( :D http://www.memoryshop.nl/geheugen/35 down on the page

Guest zwarthoed. Posted February 16, 2005 Report Posted February 16, 2005 I think so :( But I am not sure

Guest gwiddecombe Posted February 22, 2005 Report Posted February 22, 2005 nooooooooo! just ordered my 512 just now ](*,) should have waited. my girlfriend wants my 256 mini sd from modaco meeting. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I noticed Ebuyer has a 256mb card for £16.94 with free shipping which I thought was good value for money. Not sure whether to wait for the 1GB one though - question is do i need 1GB??

Not sure whether to wait for the 1GB one though - question is do i need 1GB?? Yes :( Well it depends what you use it for. 1/2 of my 256Mb is taken up with Co-Pilot and the other half is full with apps and very little music or vids, i've got to the point where I have to delete things to make room for other things. 1Gb might be enough but, in the case of memory, bigger IS Better!

I'm sooo tempted to order a 1Gb from http://www.mobymemory.com today - I've just been converting some movies and TV shows, but I don't have the space for them now!

Guest chucky.egg Posted February 22, 2005 Report Posted February 22, 2005 Well, I've taken half of your advice
Guest Confucious Posted February 22, 2005 Report Posted February 22, 2005 Well, I've taken half of your advice  So what are you going to do without a card when you've sold me your old one :(
Guest chucky.egg Posted February 22, 2005 Report Posted February 22, 2005  Seriously though... I may be interested in a swap: my 512Mb for your 256Mb, PM me if you're interested

I've tried a couple, but they all fail to run on my PC (which is running XP Media Center, which might be the issue). Much appreciated MadSci

Guest kpaden Posted July 12, 2005 Report Posted July 12, 2005 I have had my 1Gb miniSD from www.mobymemory.com for about 3 months now. It was not cheap, but it works so well with my mpx220. Now if only the airlines will let me watch movies using "inflight mode". [-X
Guest joschmoblo Posted July 13, 2005 Report Posted July 13, 2005 Well I bought my 1 gig memory card anout 2 or 3 months ago for $70. I bought it from securemart.com. They were great too. I basically got it in the mail the next day! I just checked though, and I did not see any listed for sale there. But here's a link to some places. It looks like the cheapest is $75. If the link does not go through, check places like biz rate and you'll find some there. Hope this helps!! http://www.bizrate.com/marketplace/search/...-298147535.html
