Guest shaggyguitarist Posted February 15, 2005 Report Posted February 15, 2005 I upgraded from motorola mpx200 to spv c500. Last weekend, in my sleep, the alarm on my c500 went off, and i must have lifted my phone, took off the back cover and removed the battery, in my sleep  When i woke up, about 4 or 5 hours later i was lying on my phone with battery and back cover further down the bed. Thankfully i didnt roll on the cover and break the catches, and i re-assembled the phone and turned it on. Now I had no clue what time it was, cos my phone is my clock too... But When i turned it on it said 12:00am on 12th October 2004. I eventually figured out the correct time and date and fixed it...then the annoyance followed of hundreds of alarms and reminders going off 1 after the other    I know that the mpx200 had an internal battery to keep the clock etc in memory, does the c500 not have this also, and if not why not? I think it should be an essential feature... even my 6 year old microwave has a backup battery!!
Guest hamstar50 Posted February 15, 2005 Report Posted February 15, 2005 send the damn thing back to Orange. I had the same problem...bloody stupid! So annoying. I have to switch my phone off on occasion for various reasons (mostly cuase I don't carry my charger on travel and so to save power). Each time i put it on..goes back to sometime in october and I get every larm come up! crap thing...ring Orange..tell em they're stupid phone doesn't work...givem crap and claim sales of good act...sign for new one the next day. Do not, I repeat, do not settle for them sending an enquiry to their oh so clever tech support...let you in a little secret..they no nothing more than you and I. It'll only delay things by a week. Hope this helps. (sorry about my rant...just peeved me off loads when this happened to me).
