Keypad backlighting timeout?

Is there a way to adjust the keypad backlight timeout? I find it difficult at night checking vm. By the time you'r eready to hit "1" to replay messages, the keypad backlighting has shut off and you can't see what key you're pushing.

I'm continually amazed at how they can fit so much crap into this things yet it like they (manufacturer) actually took the time to try and actually use one.
