spv e200 on Fido Toronon

I have used my orange spv e200 on T-Mobile since i got it in August 2004. It was locked when i got it and I paid the $40US for the unlock program. I worked fine. Now I will spend extended time in Toronto so i got a Fido account and SIM. I tried to use the Fido SIM and it says "Denied-Searching". I haven't tried the Fido people but i suspect they will say that they dont't know avout smart phone configuratoin and to buy one of their phoes. I have read the posts here and on other fourms and i don't see any thing. Anybody havre any ideas?
