Hi can anyone help me? I have just been given an SPV and I have it unlocked to O2. Its the original smartphone 2002 version 3.00. Problem I have is that when I receive a text message it doesn't give me the name of the sender only their number, even though that person is listed in my contacts.

Welcome to the forum :lol:

The usual solution is to edit your contact numbers to include the country code.

For example, all your UK numbers should start +44.

The number in your contact should be identical to the one on the SMS... you can always click "save contact" when viewing the sms, and save it to the user's contact list and overwrite their moble....

There is also the application Contact Reformatter by Paul [MVP]

this will change your contacts in Outlook to the +44 format and will change the numbers on your phone when you sync with Outlook.
