using pass through connection

i've managed to setup a pass through connection and browse the web on my mobile using my ADSL connection but it seems very slow. is this how it should be and is limited by something on the phone or is there a setting that i should change that would enable a more broadband like experience on my phone.

i think thats how its always been, mine too is slow but i only use it to send emails ive written during the day

shame really, would have been nice to have a full speed connection or even something that may touch the 3g speeds. saying that, video downlaods via the phone are fine, just seems to be web browsing. wonder if proxy connection settings have anything to do with it.
