Guest benzo Posted February 18, 2005 Report Posted February 18, 2005 (edited) If I have a laptop with built in wifi that is plugged into a LAN- can I use the laptop to send out wifi signal so that my M2000 can surf the internet off it? I can detect my laptop's wifi from the M2000, but am not able to do anything with it at the moment. Thanks in advance. Edit- I've had a look at the WLAN manager, and it says connected to network. But I am still not able to use pocket Internet Explorer or MSN messenger. Edited February 18, 2005 by benzo
Guest fraser Posted February 18, 2005 Report Posted February 18, 2005 Yes. Set up internet connection sharing on the ethernet lan connection and it should pretty much work without any messing around.
Guest benzo Posted February 18, 2005 Report Posted February 18, 2005 The laptop is an Apple Mac. Unfortunately I only know about PCs. Do you know where I can go in the Apple Mac to get that setting option? Thanks. Benzo

Click on sharing - underneath internet and network - , and there is a tab in there called internet. Click on it and there are some options to select which connection has the internet connection and which one you want to share it with. HTH Ventmore
Guest benzo Posted February 18, 2005 Report Posted February 18, 2005 Thanks!!!! It worked!!! It is the first hotspot I have managed to access. The distance isn't great, but I think that is what I should expect from using a laptop as a wifi transmitter. Thanks again! Benzo
