spare battery life if not used...

hi all,

My M2000 came with a spare battery - I suspect I will not use it for a long time until my main battery starts failing and I am not too keen on swapping back and forward given the threads on data loss I have read :-)

Anyway, I was wondering if phone batteries deteriorate if left unused for a long time? E.g. I recall finding an old AAA battery in a drawer leaking all over the place!

Obviously phone batteries are a different beast but I am curious what will happen if a brand new phone battery is left uncharged for months at a time... can I expect it to survive or should I use it once a month...?

Just wondering, the Orange manual is not very informative!
