Help! can't access email on SPV C500!

Have searched through the forum but can't find anyone who's had the same problem as me, so hoping someone can help as this prob has been very frustrating since i got my C500.

I have an email account which is hosted by my website host (so isn't hotmail / orange / gmail etc, it's '[email protected]' so to speak). I used to be able to access this email fine with my old SE T610, and still access without probs via my computer and/or the internet, however I can't seem to access it via my C500.

All the info is correct and exactly as per on my PC (address, password, servers etc), I've entered nothing for 'domain if necessary' and ticked the 'remember password' button, but every time I try to connect to my email it keeps coming back to the enter password screen. if I enter the password it thinks about it a bit longer then once again goes back to the enter password screen.

I've tried deleting the account and setting it up again, and I can access the internet etc so those settings are correct. Does anyone have a clue as to what i'm doing wrong?

Check your password. I've found that often the first charecter is not entered correectly and all you can see is the star. delete the first star and try again making sure it is all correct and no space is entered at the end.

It should work, I check a couple of my own domains emails (together with mu Orange, GMail and hotmail accounts)

sadly doesn't help, it still keeps asking for the password

Do you find that it takes a long time to 'connecting' and then logging on for e-mails via GPRS?

Orange, GMail and Hotmail, which one do you find that connects and logs on quicker?

I'm fed up with the long wait...

Hotmail and gmail both log on and connect within 10 seconds. Orange can take up to 30 seconds (and sometimes doesn't connect)

Sure did, it helped. A LOT faster than my server's POP3 and also Orange e-mail!
