Guest blobby Posted February 20, 2005 Report Posted February 20, 2005 Just got a new C500 this week. Just got round to actually making a call on it the call is muted, just get silence. Works with the hand free set but not when used normally or when in speakerphone mode. I'd be tempted to think it was a hardware fault but other sound comes out of the speaker fine. Any ideas if it's a software setting or will I need to get orange to swap it?
Guest martin Posted February 20, 2005 Report Posted February 20, 2005 I've never seen this problem myself but possibly someone else might know. I would only add say that, if all else fails, then I would probably try a hard reset before sending the phone back to Orange.

I gave it a go as being only a week old there was nothing on the phone I would really miss when it was wiped. Unfortunately same thing though. Phoned orange CS up, the CS rep said she was going to do some diagnostics on the handset, but seeing as it was turned off and sim-less while I was using the old e100 to make the call I'm not sure how effective this was. Anyway, she said it was marked as faulty, whether this is because it was a faulty batch of them or the network had already picked up the fault I don't know. Replacement comes tomorrow morning which is fairly sharp. Edited February 21, 2005 by blobby
